2008 Jeremy Mullinax Racing May 3, 2008 USA Int. Speedway

Once again bad luck strikes the 17 year old native from Jasper GA at the USA International Speedway in Lakeland FL. The JMR Racing team tested there car on Thursday two days prior to the event on Saturday in which they struggled to find speed. Friday's practice didn't go much better as the crew worked hard to find the right setup to go fast.

Mullinax qualified his machine in the 25th position for the Lakeland 125 on Saturday May, 3rd, there was 37 cars to take time trails prior to the event. Although deep in the field Jeremy still had a positive attitude as he climbed in his race car after the autograph session and driver introductions.

" We haven't been that fast since we unloaded on Thursday," Jeremy said, "But you can't give up, all we can do is now is try to finish the race and roll the car on the trailer in one piece." When the green flag was displayed to start the 125 lap event Mullinax gained several positions within the first few laps of the race before settling in around the 19th position. Jeremy seemed to have a pretty good race car for long green flag runs, until himself and another competitor made contact coming off of turn 4 on lap 67 and forced Jeremy to pit road for body damage repair and a fresh right front tire which put him 2laps down to the field. Mullinax was able to stay on track for the remainder of the event and avoid several more accidents and brought the car home with a 23rd place finish.

" This weekend hasn't been what we where looking for since we got here. The car was decent on long runs and I could carry a little more corner speed than a few cars in front of us. I hate that I got into the 76 car," Jeremy said, it was my fault, "I went and talk to him after the race and everything was fine. I would like to thank Doug Stevens, my crew and all my sponsors Sand Dollar Condominiums, North Georgia Collision Supply and Vortex Environmental Services for sticking with me through times likes this."
